From Theory to PRactice
What’s new in interpreting research and how can we apply this to our practice?
There is now increasing research being conducted regarding interpreting process and practice. This research aims to inform the practice of working professionals, but many working interpreters do not regularly access current interpreting research, and therefore do not benefit from resources available to them.
The purpose of this workshop is to provide interpreters with an overview of themes from recent research and publications including:
Issues of Power and Ethical Decision-Making
Cooperative Behavior and Rapport Management
Perceptions of Quality and Accuracy
Following examination of these topics, participants will consider how these findings can be applied to their everyday interpreting work.
