INterpreting in community mental health settings

A two-day training course for qualified interpreters who wish to work in mental health settings, and interpreters working in this domain who would like to increase their skills and confidence in this type of work. 

This training includes input from a diverse range of specialist practitioners in the field. During the two days we will be joined by Deaf and hearing clincians from Deaf Specialised Adult services and Child/Adolescent services (CAMHS), including:
Dr Mary Griggs, Consultant Clincial Psychologist
Dr Reenee Barton,  Consultant Child Psychiatrist and CAMHS Clinical Director
Dr Gemma Palmer, Clinical Psychologist and Manager Deaf CAMHS
Matt Nichol, Specialist CAMHS Practitioner and CBT Therapist.

The training will be led by Sarah Haynes, who specialises in interpreting in mental health settings, and works as a interpreting consultant to South West Deaf CAMHS.
