Translation Techniques for Educational Interpreting
Interpreters working in educational settings often encounter opportunities to translate English texts to signed information.
We do not always immediately recognise that we have these opportunities to slow down the interpreting process and perform a translation task, or how we might effectively prepare and rehearse these texts in order to create a coherent message. In addition, we often work with deaf audiences who have varying language use and development, which means that we may need to produce different translations to suit each audience. This webinar seeks to develop knowledge of translation theory and apply this to real texts that may be used in educational settings.
It’s suitable for those working in schools, colleges or in higher education settings.
